Author

I think the author wrote this book because when she thought of the idea of the hunger games maybe to she just had an idea that sparked a raging inferno. Or she wrote it because she left the first one as a cliff hanger and needed to keep on writing the series. She might of just been board and decided to just start writing when the idea came to her head. I am not sure what the massage of this book is but if I could ask her I would. I have read the first one in the series The Hunger Games and it was really good, and now I am reading Mocking Jay the last one. I decided to read it because Catching Fire ended leaving me hanging so now I have to read Mocking Jay.
Feelings

I had many different feelings about this book. The first one was boredom, the book started off really slow and ended up loosing a lot of readers but I stuck with it. The second was sadness because she made the victors go back into the arena witch made me kind of sad. The third one was confusion because when they were in the arena and blowing up the force field everything was going so fast i just got confused. the saddest incident would be when they are getting chased by the death fog and Katniss is caring Mags who is in her 60s and can not run. They fall over and Mags knows Katniss can't run with her on her back no more so she gets up and walks right into the death fog so Katniss and Finnick and Peata can escape.
Characters

In Catching Fire the main characters are Katniss, Peata, Gale, Finnick and Johanna. Katniss is a character i like, she is very strong willed. She is very good with a bow and arrow and can easily survive in the woods. That is why Katniss reminds me of my friend John. Now Peata is different he is a baker and a very good artist, not very good with a physical weapon but his ability to ignite a crowd with any emotion makes him a very good ally to the uprising. This is why he reminds me of Jessica, well the artist part anyway. Gale is a very good hunter with hands strong enough to work in the mine, but delicate enough to set up the most sensitive snare. Finnick is a fisherman who can make a net out of anything, and can turn grass into anything you can imagine. Johanna is from a logging district, and despite her size she can chuck an axe with force and accuracy.
Experiences

For my book I really haven't had many experiences like Catching Fire with killing people and all. I once had a dream after I read this book about the hunger games. I finished the book at twelve ish on the weekend just because it was that good and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I woke up around 3 because of my dream instead of Finnick it was me but at the end I died instead of escaping. The only books that can relate to this book would be the other 2 in the trilogy The Hunger Games and Mocking jay.
Reactions

There are many reactions that are associated with this book. In this book they are from sadness right into shock then fear and at the end of it all anger. For me it is mostly sadness because in Catching Fire many people die. At the end of the novel I felt confusion because in some novels the ending is so intense and goes by like lightning your brain can't keep up for how fast you are reading and you get confused, and Catching Fire does a good enough job on its own. For the the fear and anger they are felt throughout the ending from when a character you like dies you are angry they died but fearful that other characters you like might die also.

I would definitely recommended this book to other people. But my word of precaution is the beginning is slow but stick with it gets really good trust me.

Questions

In this book i had many questions on what I liked and didn't like. For the beginning I think she should have made it a little more interesting because she lost most of her readers. I didn't under stand why she couldn't of made it more interesting in the beginning If I had been the author I would have had more action/drama in the beginning. Also if I had been the author I would have changed the ending because the games killed characters that I liked. I would have made it so the victors would have started a uprising in the capital itself. The one thing I didn't get is when she made all the victors go back into the arena. In the book at the Quarter Quell she made all the victors go back into the arena and fight again even though if you win the games you are set for a life of peace and luxury. So that sudden twist was interesting and sad at the same time.
Predictions

I think in the end of the novel it will be down to Katniss and Peata and it will be like the first one where both of the are champions, but the capital will be so mad that they blow up district twelve. In the end of the novel Katniss unknowingly blows up the force field surrounding the arena. Right after that a hovercraft comes in and rescues Katniss, Beetee and Finnik, but leaves behind Peata, Johanna, and Enorbia. Also in the capitals rage they blow up district twelve, not many citizens survive. My prediction was off by a lot, I only got one thing right was that district twelve would be no more. I thought it would be down to Katniss and Peata and they would win like the first one , but instead they blew up the arena rescuing some but leaving the rest behind.
